ABOUT ME
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi
Helping the needy in society and volunteering my time to make the world a better place is what I have been doing since the beginning of Middle School. I have always thought that one cannot complain about the situation in society unless they have tried their best to make their situation better. I have always loved engineering, fascinated with the ability to create whatever you want with a specific set of skills. I am incredibly passionate about DIY builds and I am sure this is the major I want to pursue in college.
I have creative experience and valuable set of skills that will allow me to be a successful engineer. I am a Certified Autodesk User and intermediate with Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut, and Premiere Pro. I have learned Python, HTML, and CSS and plan on increasing my expertise in these languages. I have held many leadership roles in clubs. My first was when I found the Fallon Computer Hardware Club in 6th grade. With the mindset to repair old computer, my team of 20 students and I were able to repurpose some of the old computers and build them into computers for our PE department. At the beginning of my Freshmen year, I founded and ran a Youth Public Speaking Program at Dougherty Elementary School. In collaboration with my 4th-grade teacher, I was able to provide a rigorous curriculum for 12 students to help improve their communication skills. With an overwhelming response of more than 100 applicants, we were only able to pick a handful. With this coming year, I plan on incorporating fun new lessons and techniques to help these children become professional speakers as they grow older. I am also the treasurer and presidents of the Dublin High’s California Scholarship Federation Club. With more than 600 members, the executive board team and I research and develop charity events to help those in need. We reach out to local charities and find out ways in which we can fund, obtaining our goal of service to the community. I have been able to devise a budget and strategically plan out events that can help fund these local charities. I look forward to the engagement of our members and creating many more events.
I have been in part of the rigorous dance team for the past 6 years that has performed at many different venues throughout the Bay Area. We have explored classical Bollywood along with coming to pray and hip=hop styles of dance. I have also done theatre and ballet forms of dance. I am an avid photographer, my gallery is posted on the website and on my Instagram. A hobby that I continue to pursue up to this day is robotics. My teams over the past 3 years have done very well. We earned 2 Championship Trophies and many Robot Design Awards over the years. I personally think that this was a very important skill I learned in my years because I believe that we are heading into a future full of robots. More and more fields are opening for robots as we talk; from prosthetics to just making our bread. I think I will definitely use this skill in my future career and I look forward to putting it to good use.

WORK EXPERIENCE
As an enthusiastic and passionate student, I am constantly looking for internships and leadership opportunities that will allow me to grow as a person and help me gain experience in engineering and business-related fields. My experience in various engineering projects and community service organizations have given me a variety of skill sets that have shaped me into a confident leader. I can't wait to undertake challenging opportunities that head my way!
During the beginning of sophomore year, I went on a field trip in Workday at San Ramon. Workday is a cloud computing company that focuses on creating products for financial and HR management. This field trip was one of the best learning experiences that I have been part of. During one of the seminar lectures, we were split into small groups of 3 people. Within these groups, we rotated between different Workday employees and were given the opportunity to ask them questions. Nicole Tjon, a web-ops executive software developer, gave us a wonderful insight of the perks of working at such a privilege tech company. I recall her enjoying the flexibility that the job gave her, allowing her to spend adequate time with her family. Workday also gave their employees new different projects to work on every quarter. This ensured that they wouldn't be bored and challenged constantly with innovative new solutions.
One of the most influential speakers that I have had to privileged to listen to is James Moorehead. We met James at the Google Field trip and were given a demo on a prototype application called Google Bulletin. It was inspiring to hear how an idea at a lunch meeting was turned into a full-fledged social media application. James had a background in marketing and used his skills to gain approval for his team's project. Through his talk, we learned that with such tech giant, any idea can be turned into a reality. This was a personal source of inspiration for me because it gave me the motivation to finish a project I have been working on for a while. This project was centered around using a cloud-based facial recognition software to create an automated door-locking mechanism. I was able to finish this programs with the mentality that it had an incentive of being commercialized in the market.
I am the president of Dublin High California Scholarship Federation. I help lead 600+ students in monthly meetings as well as managing internal affairs. With another member, I helped design a complex Python script that allowed us to automate the application process. The program helps read unofficial transcripts and either accept or decline students based on their grades. Starting as a 7th grader, I got a volunteering opportunity at a fine art program called EverPro Kids. I started out helping set up the classroom for the project and assisting students with clean-up. I eventually got a part-time job offer as the director enjoyed my passion for helping children in a classroom setting. Eventually, with more experience, I moved on to helping plan art curriculum and acting as a teacher's aide. Through this job, I learned how to effectively use my leadership and communication skills in a realistic environment to guide young children between K-6.
